Mellissa was born in England in 1966 and as a child emigrated to Australia with her family. She has studied & practiced printmaking and painting continuously for the past 11 years and is a recipient of many prizes and awards. 2007 bringing for example, 1st prize in the Sydney Royal Easter Show – Printmaking, finalist in the Victorian Cancer Council Art Awards, Redeemer Christian Art Prize and the inaugural Eutick Memorial Still Life Award . Her Artwork is part of many private and public collections around the world.
Living in rural Sydney overlooking the Hawkesbury River, Mellissa’s work ranges between vibrant still lifes, textural abstracts and intricate wood & linocuts. Her combination of quirkiness and calm blend to create works with a strong spiritual base.
A founding member of the Hawkesbury Artisans Trail, Mellissa continues to work promoting creativity in the local community and works full time as artist, tutor & illustrator.
